Video review – ASUS N751 – more than just a multimedia station

There is no doubt that Asus made their success throughout the multimedia and gaming laptops thanks to their famous ‘N’ series. Since the first ASUS N53 a couple refreshments have been made. The Taipei maker placed their laptops in a price niche where mid-class business notebooks were undisputed dominants. But ASUS made their N series closer to the gaming notebooks packing them with some powerful hardware taking them closer to the gaming solutions but at lower cost.

Combined with the sound quality they usually provide and the pleasant look and sturdy built quality, these laptops look like quite a bargain. ASUS N751 is a 17.3 inch version of the already popular N551. Customers can find the notebooks equipped with different CPUs and GPUs. Screen resolution is also a variable component depending on your budget. Learn more about the series in our video review bellow.

Hi George, thank you so much for this review! Finally! I’ve been searching for months online for a review of the N751 and yours is the actual 1st real review. The other ones on the internet are just quick glimpses. This is really helpful as I’ve been wanting to know more about this, especially the JM model, which i think is the highest configuration. Do you happen to know when the 751 will be available in the U.S.A? There’s no place on the ASUS site that gives a clue about when it’s available in the U.S. In particular, I’d be… Read more »

Hi JJ,
I got the exact same issue with getting the JM model in Europe as you have over there in the States. The JM model seems to be a perfect multimedia machine with an IPS display, Intel HM87 and a GTX860 with DDR5 and is not pretending to be a ROG like the G771… Have you found a retailer where to get it from?

Hello Nige, feels like Asus is going to release the JM model last since it’s the best configuration for power users. I haven’t seen it available anywhere else, but maybe Thailand or Brazil has it. I recall on youtube, there was a reviewer who showed he got the 15 inch, 551 JM model. Short answer, no, Haven’t found a retailer yet. Asus North America site only shows the 551JQ model available, which has a GTX 845 GPU. My guess is when the other models are available, we might only know about it on Asus North America Twitter site. I’ve been… Read more »

Hi JJ, thanks for your reply… I think you’re right with the Nvidia 900 series, but honestly that makes me more kind of frightened that the JM wouldn’t be rolled out to the rest of the world at all… Since there is coming the Intel Broadwell chips they maybe stop the release and prefer a complete new approach based on the 900 and Intel’s Broadwell (or even Skylake in this segment). Anyway, the only proof I’ve found that it exists are a russian and another model on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-w-HwJqSO4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ue93FJJIow8 besides Asus’ country-neutral website (http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/N751JM/). I also sent an email… Read more »
