Verdict

Considering its price tag and performance capabilities, the Lenovo LOQ (15″ Intel, 2023) is one of the best affordable gaming notebooks you can get right now. Of course, this doesn’t take into consideration the temperatures and some features that are missing.

In our opinion, the regular user won’t be interested in them. In terms of pure gaming experience, you don’t really need an SD card slot, nor a Thunderbolt 4 port. However, you might want a MUX switch, and the LOQ 15 delivers in this department.

Lenovo LOQ (15″ Intel, 2023)’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment, which is great. On the other hand, the panel only covers half of the colors found on the Web and has slightly slow pixel response times.

Unfortunately, the battery life is not great either. Yes, it will give you about 6 hours and a half of Web browsing, or 6 hours of video playback, but it pales in comparison to the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (FX507, 2023).

On the bright side, the laptop gives you all you need in terms of upgradeability. Two SODIMM slots offer memory expandability, while the storage front comprises two M.2 PCIe x4 slots, both of which support Gen 4 SSDs.

Given the fact that the prices of all gaming notebooks have risen in 2023, we are glad that there is one device that will still attract gamers with lower budgets. Although it is not the best in some aspects – like the build materials and the CPU performance, the LOQ 15 is probably one of the best choices for its price.
