Design and construction
Guys, this device is extremely portable. As we mentioned earlier, it has a profile of only 12.9mm. This is paired with a weight of 1.20 kg. Keep in mind that this is a solid 200+ grams heavier than the lightest on the market.
And we are 100% with Lenovo on this one. Why? Well, because this particular notebook has a fantastic rigidity of the chassis. This is due to the aluminum unibody. While the super thin lid shows some flex, even though it has a Gorilla Glass cover on the other side, the base remains extremely solid. This made us feel like we skipped breakfast.
Perhaps one thing that gave way in this build is the hinges. This lid can’t be opened with a single hand. On the bright side, it still has super thin bezels and an array of sensors above the display. We are talking about a 720p Web camera, a privacy shutter, an IR face recognition scanner, a proximity sensor, and an ambient light sensor.
Moving to the base, we see a circular power button, which doubles as a fingerprint reader. And the keyboard itself is spill-resistant. This is essential in the business world, where the coffee count equals the hours of sleep you get in the night. The experience is pretty good, thanks to the clicky feedback. Naturally, the key travel is a bit short.
Below it, there is the touchpad. It has a size of 63 by 105 mm. This is definitely far from the biggest units on the market today, but the glass surface and fast response make it a really good fit for this product.
At the bottom of the device, you will find the two speaker cutouts and the ventilation grill. After it enters the chassis, the cool air dissipates the heat from the heat sinks and gets pushed out through two vents on the back of the base.
Ports
The port situation here is really scarce. You only get two Thunderbolt 4 ports and an Audio jack. That’s it.
