We have the classic show-off between AMD and Intel. This time we have the AMD Ryzen 3 4300U versus the Intel core i5-1035G4. Both of these processors represent the mid-level CPUs for both companies and they are roughly in the same price range.

These mobile processors are about to go head to head to show which CPU is the better bang for the buck and which processor performs better.

Specifications

In terms of specifications, the Intel Core i5 seemingly has the upper hand. It has 4 more threads than the Ryzen which are useful in more CPU intensive tasks and it also has 2MB of cache more than the Ryzen 3 4300U. However, the AMD chip has a significantly higher Base frequency, which may be a big advantage in some scenarios.

Conclusion

Overall, in this comparison, we have two very capable mobile chips. In terms of their CPU power, the Intel Core i5 does slightly better in tasks such as rendering and photo-editting due to the extra threads. On the other side, in terms of their graphics power, the Ryzen takes on Intel by performing 17% faster on average. In conclusion, both of these CPUs perform very well. If your work mainly relies on the sheer CPU power, you would want to go for the Core i5-1035G4, otherwise, the Ryzen 3 4300U is the better choice.
