Acer manages to produce beautiful and lightweight laptops for its Swift lineup, whose devices come with powerful enough internals to make it a tempting offer for nearly everyone out there. 3 reasons to BUY the Acer Swift 3 (SF314-42)
1. The design and the build quality
Acer has decided to opt for premium materials for this device, making it entirely out of aluminum and magnesium alloy. This makes the laptop both sturdy and thin, since metal sheets don’t need to be as thick as plastic ones to be as durable. It is also one of our lightest devices, weighing in at 1.20kg.
2. The good part of the display
The Full HD IPS display has great viewing angles and a great contrast ratio. What is more, is that the screen doesn’t use PWM for its backlight, which your eyes will thank you for. Below are photos that show off the viewing angles of the device.

3. The battery life
The 50Wh battery that comes with the Acer Swift 3 (SF314-42) manages to deliver some awesome numbers in our tests. With 12 hours and 30 minutes of Web browsing and 11 hours and 50 minutes of video playback, it is certainly one of the better ones.
2 reasons NOT to buy the Acer Swift 3 (SF314-42)
1. The upgradeability
This one is a letdown for us since the device is already a great one and making it upgradeable would have been awesome to see. While the RAM modules are soldered onto the motherboard, making the choice between 8 and 16GB permanent, there is one M.2 PCIe x4 slot to upgrade the SSD storage.
2. The bad part of the display
When we tested the display of this Acer Swift 3, we were surprised to find out that it only covers 50% of the sRGB color gamut. What this means is that it only covers 50% of the colors on the Internet, which is a letdown.
