Apple announced iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – all you need to know

Apple announced iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. As it was expected, the design changes are partial and this interrupted the tradition of presenting an entirely new design once every two years. On the other hand, your friends will be able to tell if you are with the latest iPhone.

Once again the display size is one of the main differences between the two models. iPhone 7 is 4.7″, and iPhone 7 Plus – 5.5″. The improvements in the latter include 25% higher brightness, wider color gamut, and color improvement feature.

Another distinguishing feature between the two models is the camera – the iPhone 7 will feature a single 12MP camera, whereas in the iPhone 7 Plus it will be a dual 12MP, which will let you take wide-angle shots, and also allow 2x optical zoom. The specs of the two cameras also include OIS, f/1.8 for 50% brighter shots, 6-element lens, quad-LED flash, 60% faster ISP camera sensor and the ability to take shots with wide color gamut. As for the front-facing camera, it is 7MP.

And the remaining specs are shared by the two models. You are presented with stereo speakers, which is something we see for the first time in an iPhone model. We must also mention that the standard headphones jack has been removed. The new headphones will use the Lighting charging port.

Also available is a new 64-bit A10 mobile chip that boasts two high-performer cores and two energy efficient cores. A10 is 40% more powerful than A9 and offers 50% higher graphics performance. As far as storage is concerned, you can choose between 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB.

For the first time we are dealing with a water-resistant iPhone with an IP67 certificate (up to 1 meter for as long as 30 minutes). You can also observe an improvement in the Home button, which now uses Force Touch, as well as in the LTE connectivity, which can now ensure speeds of up to 450 Mbps.

For 159 additional dollars you can purchase the new Apple AirPods wireless headphones. Apart from delivering great audio, they also feature a battery fo their own, antenna, microphone, accelerometer, and an integrated W1 chip, which manages the available sensors. By double tapping on the ear pod, you can launch Siri.

The available color options are five – gold, silver, rose gold, black, and jet black. Preorders start on September 9th and the sales on September 16th.
