ASUS’ ZenBook UX303UB is surely one of the most powerful 13-inch devices currently on the market sporting up to Core i7-6500U CPU and NVIDIA GeForce 940M GPU but what about the screen? Does it suit the all-mighty hardware? Well, at least according to our tests the Full HD version is just a delight.

The screen is manufactured by CHIMEI INNOLUX with model number N133HSE-EA3 and despite not being one of the most popular brands, this 13.3-inch panel sure does offer impeccable image quality. For starters, the maximum brightness we were able to record is 428 cd/m2 in the middle of the screen and 414 cd/m2 as average across the surface. To put things into perspective, this is on par with some smartphones we’ve tested and as some of you know, handsets usually offer higher maximum brightness than laptops and 2-in-1 devices.

Anyway, we also got 90% sRGB coverage, which is enough for good multimedia experience and general browsing. Color temperature is near the optimal 6500K – 6750K while the contrast ratio is usual for IPS panels – 1100:1. Even color accuracy is acceptable without calibration with dE2000 being 3.8 but with our profiles installed, it can be brought down to 1.6. The only thing that was a little bit off was the gamma curve but thanks to our Office Work/Web Design profile, it can be adjusted to fit the 2.2 standard.
