The Lenovo ThinkPad E580 has undergone several tests the results of which are a rather mixed bag. Unfortunately, the panel uses pulse-width modulation for regulating the brightness of the screen resulting in the so-called flickering effect for all brightness levels except for the maximum one which may cause unnecessary strain on some users’ eyes.

We say some of the users because, as you know, the higher the frequency of the pulsations, the better, and our equipment has measured 21.7 kHz frequency of emitted light which reduces the negative effect to a huge extent.
