Toshiba announces a new business notebook – the Tecra X40

Lately, Toshiba’s presence on the market is very obscure mainly because the company is struggling with financial issues. However, it seems that the Japanese manufacturer is determined to stand its ground. We are lead to this conclusion by the sudden announcement of a new high-end business notebook – the Tecra X40.

Tecra X40 appears to be a highly portable and powerful notebook that packs quite a few features to appeal to the business market. The 14-inch device is just 16.9 mm thin and weighs 2.76 lbs. With such dimensions, it can easily be compared to 13-inch models. Tecra X40 utilizes the latest 7th generation Intel Core processors to ensure smooth performance. The 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080p) display is also touch sensitive. According to the manufacturer, the notebook’s battery should last up to 13 hours of usage. You get all the necessary connections including two USB Type-C ports supporting Thunderbolt 3.

What makes the Tecra X40 special is the attention that Toshiba put in the security of the device – an important feature for business notebooks. Tecra X40 is equipped with multiple security options such as a proprietary BIOS, Face Authentication, Fingerprint Reader, Trusted Platform Module, BitLocker Drive Encryption, Device Guard, Credential Guard, Intel Authenticate, Smart Card Reader and Security Lock Slot solutions.

The notebook is also said to be very durable. The Tough Body chassis is constructed out of a magnesium alloy featuring Toshiba’s honeycomb reinforcement technology. The Tecra X40 has been tested using the Mil-STD-810G methodology and it is humidity, drop and dust proof.

The starting price of the Tecra X40 will be $1329.99. Meanwhile, you can check all available Toshiba products over here: http://amzn.to/2srQw7k
