Following the leak we had a few weeks back, we can now confirm for sure that the 1050Ti and 1060 are successors to the mobile GTX 950M and 960M GPUs. Our source also explains that the new chips will feature GDDR5 memory and wider bus width, or at least the 1060. The 1050Ti will have 4GB of 128-bit GDDR5 memory while the 1060 will receive a wider 192-bit 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM.

It seems that the successors of the 950M and 960M will deliver a significant increase in performance not only due to the new Pascal architecture with 16nm FinFET process but also because of the upgraded memory. We are still puzzled with the Ti at the end of the 1050, though. The first time we received this info, we thought that we are talking about a desktop chip but our source assures that the 1060 and 1050Ti are indeed mobile GPUs. And if named correctly, the rumor about skipping the “M” at the end of the Pascal graphics cards might turn out to be true and the line between desktop and mobile cards will be blurred. Moreover, we have a second confirmation that the 1050Ti is codenamed N17P-G1 and the 1060 is N17E-G1.

For now, all the information we have are just small pieces of a larger puzzle and we can’t be 100% sure but we have a good reason to believe that NVIDIA will announce its mobile Pascal lineup at the beginning of August, probably on the 1st.
