The HP ProBook 440 G7 may look like a refresh of its predecessor but there is nothing bad in it because the laptop packs a serious amount of good features. The body is strong and it can resist low-to-medium pressure (intentional or not) on its surface. Additionally, this machine comes with a good amount of 10th gen Intel Comet Lake CPU that you can choose from.

1. Cool and quiet under load

Yes, the device is very quiet under load. Our test machine is equipped with the Intel Core i5-10210U and it has iGPU only. The result is 72°C CPU temperature during heavy loads, 34°C for the upper part of the shell, and the cooling fan didn’t punish our ears with high noise levels. Overall, comfort during load is more than decent.

2. Good spill-resistant keyboard

We have our hands on a spill-resistant keyboard with an optional backlight. So, you can use it during night time in a dimmed room and you don’t have to worry if you accidentally spill some coffee on it. The key travel is average but the feedback is clicky enough. The soft and smooth finish on the top of the keycaps enhances the whole experience.

3. Long battery life

The 45Wh battery unit ensures decent autonomous life when the laptop isn’t connected to the wall. We ended up with a bit over 10 hours of Web browsing and almost the same amount of time of video playback.

4. The good side of the display

The 14.0″ IPS display has a model number LG LP140WFA-SPD3 (LGD060F). Its viewing angles are comfortable, the contrast ratio is more than acceptable – 1050:1, and the panel is completely PWM-free.

1. The bad side of the display

Unfortunately, the panel isn’t perfect. It has a really poor sRGB color coverage of just 50%. In terms of color accuracy, things are no different – the out of the box settings are bad, and even with our “Gaming and Web design” the display is just a mediocre performer.
