Here’s a nice surprise – new ASUS ROG G502/GL502 price point far below 2000 EUR

LD0003616008_2ASUS ROG G502 (also known as GL502) is one of the most interesting upcoming notebooks – it has a really thin profile and really powerful hardware – Core i7-6700HQ plus GeForce GTX 970M. If you follow us closely, you’ve read our preview where we shared that the only disappointing “feature” is the price of the machine – the rumors said that it would cost as much as 2000 EUR (~2300 USD).

Today we found the new ROG in a french online store at the price of 1699 EUR (~ 1950 USD), featuring 16GBs of DDR4 RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD, which makes it a great alternative to its competitors like Predator 15 and Alienware 15.

In addition to the high-end CPU and GPU, ROG G502/GL502 incorporates a Full HD screen (with 100% sRGB and 98% AdobeRGB coverage), Wi-Fi AC, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.1 Type C and 64-bit Windows 10 OS.

Here you can find more information about the notebook and take a look at its detailed specs sheet:

This is going to be my next laptop if no thermal throttling is reported. The i5/970m version is already sold in France for 1400Eur. +100Eur for the i7 version.

Waiting for it to land in the German market and see where it gets with some price competition.
