Now that we’ve introduced the high-end Motorola Moto X Style, it’s also a good idea to have a closer look at its more affordable counterpart – Moto X Play. As the name of the device suggests, this smartphone is designed not only for work-related tasks but for entertainment as well. Moto X Play is best suited for people who are always on the move and the reason for this are its battery, which provides up to two full days of normal usage, and its 21MP camera.

Speaking of, we should note that the capacity of Moto X Play’s battery is 3630 mAh and this should be enough to provide up to 48 hours of mixed usage. Furthermore, the unit features the TurboPower ultra-fast charging technology, for which Motorola says that it’s the fastest of its kind and provides eight hours of battery life for just 15 minutes of charging. Also, the phone has a water repellant nano-coating, protecting it from water drops or rain.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 SoC is on board boasting four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.70GHz that take care of the most demanding tasks and four more Cortex-A53 cores, but toned down to 1.00GHz for everyday tasks. The phone has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with up to 128GB more, thanks to the microSD memory card slot.

Moto X Play has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive multi-touch display with 1080 x 1920 (Full HD) resolution, providing pixel density of 403 PPI. It also features a Gorilla Glass 3 coating that protects the screen from cracks and scratches. Motorola has always been up to date with the latest software releases and even though Moto X Play runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, an update to 6.0 Marshmallow will be available soon.

In terms of connectivity, the model supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/g/b/n, GPS and 4G LTE while the camera department packs a 21MP rear unit with autofocus and LED flash and a 5MP front-facing “selfie” camera.
