Intel Core i7-1065G7 vs i7-10510U – gaming or CPU performance
Intel Ice lake is here, with its new 10nm tech process and the devices with it are already hitting the shelves. From our previous comparisons, we know that Intel Iris Plus Graphics (no matter the model) is a beast compared to Intel UHD. This time we will clash the Core i7-1065G7 and i7-10510U. Maybe the i7-10510U can show some muscles when it comes to CPU performance?
Let’s compare those CPUs and we will see.
Quick Specs
The Ice lake CPU (i7-1065G7) is a bit more expensive – $426.00 to $409.00. The two processors have 4 cores and 8 threads. Core i7-10510U is taking the lead when it comes to frequencies with 1.80GHz – 4.90 GHz (base and boost) while the i7-1065G7 is bit “shy” with 1.30GHz base and 3.90 GHz boost. So, i7-10510U got a whole gigahertz more for boost, let’s see if this will lead to an advantage in our benchmarks. We have 8MB of cache for both CPUs. TDP levels are almost the same. Intel Core i7-1065G7 is edging the i7-10510U with supported memory frequencies – DDR4-3200, LPDDR4-3733 to DDR4-2666, LPDDR3-2133.

3DMark Firestrike | 1731 | 1196 | 45% |
Verdict
Intel Core i7-1065G7 is an interesting CPU with its 10nm tech process, powerful iGPU, and decent performance. Intel is asking $15 more compared to its rival here. The i7-10510U is not a bad choice too – a bit cheaper and it offers 15% more CPU performance, not bad at all.
If you only use your notebook for browsing and watching videos you can get a device with the i7-10510U – it will be a bit faster no matter the task. For people who play casual and light games, we can highly recommend the new Core i7-1065G7 – its performance is enough for daily usage but the graphics power is impressive compared to the old UHD models. For example, you can play DOTA 2 with 30 fps on 1080p while with UHD 620 you will get 18 FPS only which is unplayable.
