A new Motorola smartphone surfaces on Geekbench – Snapdragon 835, Android 7.1.1

We have some good news for the Motorola fans out there. The other day a new flagship device was listed on Geekbench. The information about the smartphone is quite scarce but it looks promising.

The device has the model number XT1650 which suggest that it could be the next Moto Z. While there is not much to talk about one thing is for sure – it is a flagship phone. It looks like the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 835 chipset. For those of you who don’t know, the Snapdragon 835 is an octa-core processor based on the 10nm manufacturing process and features eight Kryo 280 cores with a clock speed of up to 2.45GHz. Back to the XT1650, it seems that it could be one of the first devices to launch with the Snapdragon 835 SoC. The Geekbench site gives us very little information, apart from the SoC we know that the smartphone will have 4GB of RAM and it will run the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is not a surprise to see the latest version of Android on a Motorola device and judging by previous models we could expect to see a near-vanilla experience with fast updates.

The Geekbench site also gives us some performance data that you can check here: https://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/1650449
