Dell G5 15 5590’s battery life is one of the best in its class

The 60Wh battery in Dell G5 15 5590 (read our review) isn’t the biggest we’ve seen but it managed to surprise us with more than 8 hours of life without the charger. In order to simulate real-life conditions, we use our own script for automatic web browsing through over 70 websites – G5 15 5590 worked for 494 minutes before turning itself off (at 120 nits screen brightness).

The video playback runtime was 464 minutes (7 hours and 44 minutes) while our gaming test reduced the percentage from 100% to 0% for 130 mins.

For comparison, G5 15 5590’s direct competitor Lenovo Legion Y740 (57Wh) lasted just 191 minutes at the Web surfing test.
