Google officially announced its latest mobile OS version. It continues the tradition of being named after a candy, and in this case we have Android 8.0 Oreo. We have yet to acquaint ourselves with the newest capabilities of the mobile platform but we expect battery life optimization, faster charging, picture in picture feature, refreshed and enriched number of icons and more.
An Android 8 upgrade is expected for Nexus and Pixel devices first, and it may happen very soon. Also expected later this year are new models working with Android 8 or older such to receive the update. The companies that were mentioned were Huawei, HTC, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp, and Sony.
