Before we tell you more details about the interesting AMD configuration we will take a quick look at some of the ENVY x360’s features. As you could guess by the name, it is a convertible 2-in-1 device with a 360 degrees rotatable touchscreen. The display is 15.6 inches in diagonal with ultra-thin bezels advertised as a “micro-edge” display by HP. You can the standard Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution but you also have an option to go for a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160p) resolution.

The ENVY x360 15 comes with lots of software additions. You get a free 30-day trial of McAfee LiveSafe and a Microsoft Office trial. However, after these trials end, you get up to $169.98 off subscriptions for Office or McAfee LifeSafe. You should contact the manufacturer for the terms and conditions of these promos. You also get up to four years of Computrace LoJack subscription. LoJack is an advanced anti-theft software that lets you remotely manage files and track your device.

Finally, let’s take a detailed look at the hardware of the notebook. The ENVY x360 15 is powered by the 8th gen ore i5-8250U and Core i7-8550U which are both quad-core CPUs with Hyper-Threading and only 15W of TDP. As for the GPU, you can stick with the integrated UHD Graphics 620 or opt for the NVIDIA GeForce MX150 which is an entry-level dedicated GPU for notebooks.

But there is leaked information about a Zen-powered configuration too. It was listed on HP’s site but then it was removed. Maybe because AMD has not officially released the Raven Ridge APUs. The ENVY x360 15 will be powered by the Ryzen 5 2500U which is a quad-core CPU with SMT (AMD’s version of Hyper-Threading) and a base clock of 2.00GHz. Burst frequencies go up to 3.60GHz. The processor has an integrated graphics card which is the Radeon Vega M. However, there were not any details about the GPU listed.

The HP ENVY x360 15 is shaping up as an excellent notebook that can serve many purposes. What really makes it stand out of the crowd at the moment is the mobile Ryzen chip that we are eager to see. You can check out ENVY x360 15’s configurations and their specs in our Laptops Specs system:
