日本Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71) review – clever blend between Nitro’s affordability and Predator’s power
Today, we have another gaming laptop in our office. It is the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71) – quite a mouthful of a name. But this company already has the Predator Helios 16, so the most natural question would be – what is the difference between the two models?
To be honest, we don’t really know how they are supposed to share the market together. Ultimately, the “Neo” should be a bit less expensive, due to the fact that it can be maxed out “only” with the RTX 4070, whereas the non-Neo product can be found with an RTX 4080.
In addition to that, there are a couple more differences – the most obvious being in its design. On the other hand, the processors of choice are still Intel’s 13th Gen HX-series, which have a huge potential for performance, and for disabling your entire neighborhood’s power grid.
But before we bash anyone for its (possible) lack of efficiency, we first need to get to our tests. Some of them will cover the display, which can be a 1920x1200p, or a 2560x1600p IPS unit. The latter has a 165Hz refresh rate and supports G-Sync.

What’s in the box?
Inside the package, you will find the mandatory paperwork, as well as a quite beefy 330W charger.
This has a 4060, not a 4050!
I find the upgrade option weak, 2 nmve, are both now filled what is the max capacity they will hold (some have what can only be described as bios limits), for that matter can they take 80mm? Also what about the RAM, what is the max speed or capacity. The only really upgradable parts of a laptop should be properly investigated. Thanks for the effort though
The page on best buys says the max ram is 32 gigs.
