[FPS Benchmarks] Far Cry New Dawn on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 [40W and 50W] – the bigger sibling runs with 60 FPS on Ultra

The Far Cry series is characterizing by a big open-world, decent graphics (the engine is showing its age but it’s still fine), and you have the freedom to choose what to do (missions, exploring, etc). In addition, the game includes a lot of interesting achievements, co-op mode as well as multiplayer so definitely, this game offers a lot of things to do if you’re bored to play the single-player campaign.

What about performance? Being a console port, the situation regarding the optimization of this game is “not great, not terrible”. The good news is that a hefty amount of the current-gen video cards can handle this game on High-quality mode.

Ultra is a bit too demanding for GPUs like GTX 1050 (for example). But let’s see what two current-gen graphics solutions like the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W, 896 CUDA, GDDR6] and the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W, 1024 CUDA, GDDR5] are able to offer when the huge map of New Dawn is in front of you.

    Verdict

It’s not a surprise that the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W] is 18% faster when compared to the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W]. If you don’t care too much for visuals, Low is still fine and the game doesn’t look obsolete. It seems that High is the sweet spot – the 40W GPU is close to the 60 FPS mark, while the bigger sibling can show 10 FPS more.

Ultra isn’t a “no-go” for these two fellas. The GeForce GTX 1650 [50W] can hit the “60-ties” and the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] can deliver 51 FPS which is still good considering that this GPU has just a modest 40W TGP.
