These are the latest ZenBook models to be released by the end of 2016

Recently we shared with you an article that discusses the disassembly of ZenBook Flip UX360. This is namely one of the devices that shall be in the focus of the present discussion. All of the included notebooks are part of the ZenBook lineup and will be released (or have already been released) by the end of 2016.

ASUS ZenBook UX310

We begin with the little one – ZenBook UX310. It is a 13-incher, characterized by its mobility and decent performance. Its predecessor UX303 offered ULV i7 processor and GeForce 940M GPU. At first glance, the updated version does not seem much different. Again we see configurations with ULV CPUs such as i3, i5 and i7, and the difference here is the more powerful GPU – GeForce 940MX.

Even though the GPU comes in two variants – DDR3 and GDDR5 – we expect performance to be higher than that of the standard GeForce 940M. Other than this small change, ASUS allows you to choose a 13-inch display with a resolution of either 1920 х 1080 or 3200 х 1800 pixels. Additionally, image quality is very high because of the 100% sRGB coverage, IPS panel and matte finish.

The RAM type is DDR4 and it is very likely that you will be able to add max 16GB of RAM to your device. ZenBook UX310 offers two storage options – M.2 or the standard 2.5-inch slot. Another change is to be found in the interior. There is a backlit keyboard, the chassis is lighter (1.45 kg), the touchpad area is bigger, and the number of ports is greater (compared to the previous version). Also, ZenBook UX310’s price is expected to start at around $ 700 and go up according to the configuration.

ASUS ZenBook UX330

Next on our list is ZenBook UX330. It is not very much different from the above mobile device. However, this model is distinguished by better performance and mobility. The latter is due to the profile thickness which is only 13.5 mm. In comparison, UX310 is 18.35 mm thick in its thickest point. Probably this is why UX330 does not feature a discrete GPU which normally needs a cooling system, and this also leads to light weight – 1.2 kg. Despite the small 13″ size, this model offers a matte display (3200 х 1800 p) and an IPS panel. Also, the processors are again ULV and the RAM type will most likely be DDR3 (this was the one we saw at Computex).

The differences between the first two devices are found on their sides. In UX330 there is no Thunderbolt 3 support, instead there are only two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 and a micro-HDMI port. Unfortunately, the latter two are located on the right and this can be an issue if you want to use a mouse.  The price of UX330 has not been confirmed yet, but it will be around $ 799.

ASUS ZenBook Flip UX360

Third on our list is the already familiar ZenBook Flip UX360. You may already know from our disassembly article that this model features Core M CPUs which are as powerful as the ones in the above described laptops, but allow the use of passive cooling – there are no fans and the system uses one heatsink for cooling.

Leaving these characteristic features aside, you can use ZenBook Flip UX360 in four modes – standard laptop, tent, tablet and flipped screen. This means that you are dealing with a touchscreen and an IPS panel. The size of the latter is 13″ and the resolution – 1920 x 1080 p. ASUS ZenBook UX510

We conclude this article with a model that is slightly bigger and better performer than the other three. Its name is ZenBook UX510. As the name suggests, this is a 15-incher, the bigger brother in this lineup. It is distinguishable not only because of its size, but also because of its higher performance. This is due to the graphics card used by ASUS – its most powerful configuration features a GeForce GTX 950M or GTX 960M.

The CPUs you can find in this model are ULV again, meaning that the device is meant for multimedia purposes rather than gaming. Still, some gaming is possible if you don’t mind low settings. This laptop uses a TN panel and its resolution is FHD (1920 х 1080). Despite its dimensions, the laptop weighs 2 kg and features a wide variety of ports – four USB ports, one USB 3.1 Type C, HDMI, an SD card reader, and combo audio jack. We expect ZenBook UX510 to be released by the end of this summer and start from $ 799.

What is the exact release date of these models? Also, how come no new news has surfaced about any of these models?

Hi Pranav. I was wondering the same thing. When do these laptops really come out. I’ve been waiting for 3 months for this specific laptop to come out. unfortunately, it hasn’t. I’m urgently in need of one and i’m starting to wonder if I should stop waiting and buy another.

You’re using the picture of the Asus Zenbook ux390 for the ux330. The ux 330 actually looks like this https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-UX330UA/overview/
