Acer Aspire V15 (V3-574) PWM report – the display uses it but at a very high frequency

acer-aspire-v3-574g-pwmSome weeks ago, when we tested a sample unit of the new Acer Aspire V15 (V3-574), we introduced you to its BluelightShield display technology and PWM results. Now, after the official release, we took a store unit and put it through the same tests to see if Acer has changed its display panel. It turned out that its the same LG Display (LP156WF4-SPL1), and we can confirm that the model uses Pulse-Width Modulation.

Fortunately, the flickering frequency is very high (25 KHz), so chances are you won’t feel eye fatigue even after continuous use. Also, at 100% brightness the display is just pulsating (as you can see in the graph below) and at that level the brightness is 240 cd/m2, so it’s not that much and is thus comfortable for everyday use.
