MSI GT83VR Titan SLI’s screen uses low-frequency (harmful) PWM

Looking for a desktop replacement but just as powerful and a bit more portable? Well, MSI got you covered with the MSI GT83VR Titan SLI notebook, which also comes with a dual GTX 1080 setup but for now, we currently have the GTX 1070-powered version in our office. Anyway, while you are waiting for the full review, we decided to tease you with a little bit of information regarding the screen. Unfortunately, though, the news aren’t exactly good.

Our lab equipment recorded low-frequency PWM from 0 to 99% screen brightness at 250 Hz, which can be considered as exceptionally aggressive. Also, the screen lacks the much-needed G-Sync technology so probably that’s one of the reasons the screen uses low-frequency PWM for regulating brightness.

Good thing we have the Health-Guard profile prepared for you, as it eliminates PWM and reduces the negative impact from the blue light emissions. Stay tuned for the full review and all the profiles on the screen.
