The new Dell Precision 7530 and 7730 are workstation monsters with up to 128GB RAM and 8TB SSD

Dell has just added two new models to its Precision mobile workstation lineup that have been upgraded with the latest hardware options. We are talking about Dell Precision 15 7530 and Dell Precision 17 7730 whose specs sheets we are going to cover briefly.

Under the hood, both models are powered by the latest 8th generation Intel Core processors including the overclockable 6-core Intel Core i9-8950HK. You could also opt for the 6-core Intel Xeon E-2186M. In terms of graphics options, the notebooks come with NVIDIA Quadro P3200Intel UHD Graphics 630 or AMD Radeon Pro WX 4150. A very important specification of the new Dell models is the amount of RAM they rely on – they are able to take up to 128 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM. We should also highlight the fact that Dell Precision 15 7530 offers 1x 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe M.2 slot, whereas the 7730 notebook impresses with 4x 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe M.2 slots which means you can upgrade your machine with up to 8TB SSD (4x2TB).

Moving on, just as its name suggests, Dell Precision 15 7530 has a diagonal of 15 inches and features an IPS panel with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. On the other hand, Dell Precision 17 7730 offers more display options – a 17.3-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS panel, 17.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS one or a 17.3-inch HD+ (1600 x 900) TN one. In addition, quite expectedly, the more portable solution is the Precision 7530 that measures at 378 x 251 x 30 – 25 mm and weighs 2.52 kg (5.6 lbs) as opposed to 414 x 274 x 30 – 26 mm and 3.09 kg (6.8 lbs) for 7730 respectively.

Furthermore, the new Dell Precision 7530 and 7730 also offer a decent port selection which is quite typical for workstation solutions. The 7530 comes with 2x USB 3.1 Type-C ports, 2x USB 3.0 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.0, mini Displayport, SD card reader, combo audio, as well as Security Lock slot. Additionally, the 7730 is equipped with an additional USB 3.0 Type-A port.

Dell Precision 7530 and 7730 are available starting at $1,119 and $1,519.
