日本Dell G16 7630 review – its CPU boosts up to 200W
We can’t put Dell and the word “gaming” in one sentence without thinking about Alienware. Today, we are not going to review an Alienware notebook, but we are definitely going to get the closest we can’t get to that.
Yes, we are talking about the Dell G16 7630. It is one of the company’s best gaming options currently on the market. Of course, we are yet to decide if it is any good, or the title “best from Dell” wouldn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things.
Anyways, the American company has chosen to give you some of the best processors on the market for this particular machine. They have a TDP of 55W, which is often dwarfed by the actual readings we get during extreme workloads.
On top of that, the top-of-the-line GPU option is the RTX 4070 – a graphics card that needs no introduction. However, Dell doesn’t specify what is the TGP. Instead, we found out that the RTX 4060 (that we have in our unit) has a TGP of 140W.
In addition to all of that, there is the display, which has an aspect ratio of 16:10 and supports G-Sync. But after all, this is not a rundown of the specs, but an actual review, so let’s skip the pleasantries and start right away.

What’s in the box?
Inside the package, you will find some paperwork, as well as a huge 330W power adapter. It has a chassis that maximizes the surface area, ensuring better cooling (which is quite important at these amounts of power).
This difference in the clocks/power ratio between the G16 and other models with the same CPU is related to the variation in chip quality.
This tested G16 i7 apparently did badly in the silicon lottery.

GPU option is the RTX 4070
I love my Dell 2023 G16. I have the 13650HX and the 4050 GPU for $1199. I have a 13900k and 4090 for video editing videos on my desktop, but I needed a laptop for editing while on vacation and traveling this summer. I would have bought the 4070 variant, but it wasn’t available for another few weeks and I needed something now. After placing my order through Dell.com, I hopped onto Amazon and ordered a WD Black SN850X 2TB and 64GB of Crucial ram for a total of $300 in upgrades.
