ASUS announces two new ZenBooks – UX430 and UX530 – compact yet powerful

ASUS is launching the third generation of ZenBooks. Yesterday we told you about the ZenBook 3 Deluxe UX490UA, and now it is time for two new installments of the ZenBook series. The UX430 and UX530 are two thin, almost bezel-less notebooks with powerful hardware inside. They both offer discrete graphics cards and 7th generation Intel Core processors.

UX430

The ZenBook UX430 has a 14-inch screen that fits into a 13-inch chassis making it ultra-portable while giving you a bigger screen. The LED backlit display has a Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution with 178 degrees viewing angles and 100% sRGB coverage. This will allow some great visuals with bright and vivid colors. The screen is also surrounded by an ultra-thin bezel that is just 7.18 mm thick. This makes the screen-to-body ratio the impressive 80%. To make it even more portable ASUS has designed the UX430 to be just 15.9 mm thick and just 1.25 kg in weight.

Let’s say a few words about the internal components. The UX430 can be equipped with up to i7 CPU from the latest Kaby Lake generation. RAM is up to 16GB DDR4 2133MHz while storage options are up to 512GB SSD. What is most interesting is that there is a discrete graphics card in such a thin and lightweight notebook. ASUS has implemented the NVIDIA GeForce 940MX to ensure high performance in day to day tasks. There will also be a model with an integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 graphics card.

The notebook also features a 50Wh battery that is said to last up to 9 hours. Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1 are present for high-speed connection while you have all the necessary ports including a micro HDMI, USB Type-C and USB 3.1 Gen 1. However, no Thunderbolt 3 port here.

UX530

Now the ZenBook UX530 is a bit larger 15.6-inch notebook but it still has a compact design. Unfortunately, there are fewer details available about the big brother of the UX430. However, what we know is that they are going to be practically the same in terms of internals. Again we will find configurations with up to i7 processor, up to 16GB DDR4 SDRAM, up to 512 GB SATA3 SSD and the usual ports. But this time in the UX530 we will have the option to find the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 discrete graphics card. This means that you can even play some graphically intense games on this little bad boy.

Information about availability and pricing is scarce. What we know is that both notebooks should launch somewhere in Q2 in the UK.
