Inside Acer Swift 7 (SF714-52T) – disassembly and upgrade options
Acer Swift 7 (SF714-52T) is one of the (if not The) thinnest laptops on the market today. Its thickness is relative to the one of a smartphone, while its weight of 890 grams is a tremendous achievement for the manufacturer.

1. Remove the bottom plate
What to do to remove the bottom panel? Well, first remove all 6 Torx-head screws you see on it. Then, you need to take the rubber feet away from the device, as they are hiding a Phillips-head screw beneath them. After that, if you are not annoyed already, you have to pry the bottom panel very carefully – with a plastic tool.
2. Battery
Taking most of the space inside, there is a tiny 31.9Wh battery pack. As this is usually not a typical size for a laptop this generously priced, it is expected, because of the thin form factor. Additionally, the Y-series processor enables the manufacturer to experiment with battery size.
3. Memory and cooling solution
Speaking of energy-efficient processors, this device is cooled passively. Ultimately, the processor is placed on the backside of the motherboard, so you would need to remove the entire motherboard to see what’s happening there. Most probably there is a thermal compound connecting the CPU and the chassis. Sadly, the memory and the storage are soldered to the motherboard, so there is no upgradability there.
