[Specs and Info] The TUF brand gets some much needed love, as ASUS updates the TUF Gaming F15 and F17
It’s about time the TUF Gaming brand got some love from ASUS. We know that ROG is basically the poster child for ASUS’s gaming aspirations, with it having first dibs on any new technology that ASUS comes up with. However, believe it or not, TUF is set to be the more bought brand, because it offers less expensive devices, that the general consumer can have an easier time obtaining. That is why for today, we will focus on two staples of the ASUS TUF Gaming brand, the F15, and F17, which have recently been updated with Tiger Lake H and RTX 3000-series GPUs.
Today we are giving you a quick overview of the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and F17.

Design
As with many other less expensive gaming laptops, including some ROG ones, the laptop comes with the standard combination of body materials, with a metal lid and a plastic body. The laptop is more aggressive, with striking body lines on the lid, and a very well thought of honeycomb pattern on the bottom, which both gives the plastic chassis enough structural integrity, but also has some slits on it, which allow them to double as heat vents for hot air to exit the body. There is a weight difference between the F15 and F17, which is around 400 grams heavier, weighing 2.60 kg.
Display
From the looks of it, it seems that the F15 is the more beloved device, as it gets one more display to choose from. Otherwise, both laptops offer identical displays, except for the size, with the F15 getting 15.6-inch displays, and the F17 – 17.3-inch ones. The first panel has a Full HD resolution and uses IPS technology. The second panel has the same resolution but offers a 144Hz refresh rate. The final display, which is only available on the F15, increases the refresh rate even further, to 240Hz and has 100% sRGB coverage.
Specifications and features
The laptop offers a multitude of CPU choices, all of which are part of the Tiger Lake H family from Intel. The base configuration comes with the Core i5-11260H. After that, there are the Core i5-11400H, the Core i7-11800H, and the Core i9-11900H, to top it all off. For the graphics, there are multiple choices as well, with you getting to pick from the brand new RTX 3050, RTX 3050 Ti, and the RTX 3060, all of which are “Laptop” versions.
ASUS has chosen a chiclet RGB backlit keyboard, which has smaller keycaps, a rather questionable move for a gaming laptop. The stereo speaker setup onboard has DTS:X Ultra Audio technology, which results in an immersive sound experience.

how about brightness, color accuracy and responce time instead of just “ips”, manufacturers?
When are you reviewing this and comparing it to the A15 with 5800H?
