[Specs, Info, and Prices] The Legion 5 Pro adds faster hardware to the already very promising Legion 5

Lenovo already showed off their Legion 5, which was their claim for the best mid-range gaming laptop. Now, they have come out with another, more powerful version dubbed the Legion 5 Pro.

Specs-wise, it somewhat steps on the toes of the more premium Legion 7, offering the same hardware, although the Legion 7 has the upper hand when it comes to CPU and GPU choices. Being powered by the Ryzen 5000-series processors and the RTX 3000-series Ampere graphics cards, this new device is no joke and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the new Lenovo Legion 5 Pro.

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro: Full Specs

Design

The exterior doesn’t look as premium as the Legion 7, utilizing more plastic than metal, but due to its large size and heft durability and rigidity shouldn’t be an issue. The laptop is quite good looking picking up some design cues from its more expensive brethren, the Legion 7. It can be ordered in two colors, Storm Grey, which is more low-key and less distinguishable, and Stingray White, with which the laptop and the Legion logo on the lid just POP.

Display

The display choices here is really only one choice, but the panel has some great qualities. It has a size of 16 inches and a QHD+ resolution. Yes, the aspect ratio here is 16:10, same as that on the Legion 7. It has a 165Hz refresh rate, covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, reaches a maximum brightness of 500 nits, and a 3ms response time. Of course, you should take these values with a grain of salt and we would advise you to wait for our own in-depth review, in order for us to confirm them. The panel also supports NVIDIA G-Sync and Dolby Vision.

Specifications and Features

Specs-wise you get a lot of the same hardware options as the Legion 7, with the only exception being the missing Ryzen 9 CPUs and the RTX 3080 GPU. This means that for the processor you have up to the Ryzen 7 5800H and for the graphics card you can get up to an RTX 3070, which in our opinion is the best from these new RTX Ampere GPUs when it comes to price/performance ratio.

You get a backlit keyboard – either a single-color White one or a 4-zone RGB. As for the connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 come as standard. You also get a stereo speaker setup from Harman/Kardon and a webcam with a built-in e-shutter. Being a gaming laptop, I/O is quite stacked with a total of six USB ports (2 Type-C and 4 Type-A ports), a dedicated button for the e-shutter, an RJ-45 connector, and an HDMI port. Preloaded is also some software from Lenovo, such as the PC Manager and antivirus program.
