The new Dell XPS 13 9300 (2020) comes with 16:10 UHD+ display and Ice Lake CPUs
Dell has just announced the new models of the XPS 13 series. They are Ice Lake-powered devices so you can expect decent CPU performance alongside great iGPU speed thanks to the latest Intel Iris Plus graphics. For those who demand more performance, XPS 13 Comet Lake-based machines are available too with up to 6 cores and 12 threads.
The Ice Lake machines will feature an upgraded 16:10 display (the size is slightly increased to 13.4″ due to the new aspect ratio and higher resolution) that will come in two Dolby Vision certified versions – a 1200p one that will fully cover the sRGB standard and an Ultra HD+ one, HDR 400 certified, that will cover 90% of the DCI-P3 standard. The bezels around the panel are extremely slim. The aluminum chassis will come in black or white color options, а 14.8mm profile and around 1.2kg weight.
The all-new Dell XPS 13 9300 devices are great performers as always – as mentioned, Ice Lake CPUs with Intel Iris Plus graphics, up to 32 GB LPDDR4X-3733 (note that the 3733MHz is the max supported memory frequency by Ice Lake), and an NVMe drive with up to 2TB size. There is a new cooling solution that will cool the internals and will maintain high clocks under prolonged heavy loads. The cooling consists of two heat pipes and two fans.
The connectivity is rich in options – two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a 2×2 Killer Wi-Fi 6, a microSD card reader, a 3.5-mm audio jack, and Bluetooth 5.0.
As always, the new XPS machines will offer a decent amount of multimedia options – 2W stereo speakers with Waves MaxxAudio Pro, a 720p webcam, and a far-field microphone array with Microsoft Cortana capabilities. There is a built-in fingerprint reader in the power button.
Last but not least – the battery is a 52 Wh unit that will ensure up to 19 hours of autonomous work for the 1200p notebook.
