Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo performed great in our battery tests and proved to be more durable than the classic Galaxy S5

battWe have already mentioned about the upcoming Galaxy S5 Neo review but to this moment we can only share the results from our battery tests, so you can get a general idea of its durability. Just as the classic Galaxy S5, the Neo version has the same 2800 mAh battery. The SoC, however, is different and will probably affect battery life. It’s Samsung’s Exynos 7 Octa 7580 boasting eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6Ghz. Keeping that in mind, we expected the battery performance to be more than satisfying.

In our Wi-Fi Web surfing test, Galaxy S5 Neo “survived” the outstanding 740 minutes (12 hours and 20 minutes), compared to the 628 minutes on Galaxy S5. Even more impressive is the result in our video playback tests, where the device managed to get 828 minutes (13 hours and 48 minutes). Galaxy S5 Neo had some troubles in the 3D gaming tests, though. The result is 261 minutes (4 hours and 21 minutes), which seem unsatisfying, but perhaps it is because the bar was set too high, after the great performance in the previous tests. You can expect more test results, as well as information about the device and its capabilities in our upcoming in-depth review of the model.
