1. Upgradeability
The upgradeability here is on point, with there being two SODIMM slots, which can fit up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, according to Dell. Usually, we find out that in practice, that number is doubled, but Dell is trying to play it safe. Storage-wise, it varies between the battery size that you select. If you want the smaller unit, you get both an M.2 PCIe x4 slot and a 2.5-inch SATA drive. If you select the bigger battery, the space for the SATA drive is gone.

2. Battery life
Now, we conduct the battery tests with Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits, and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with. The smaller battery option has a size of 41Wh, while the bigger one that we had comes with a 54Wh size. The unit lasted for 12 hours and 51 minutes of Web browsing, or 9 hours and 8 minutes of video playback.
3. I/O
Strangely enough, here you get a better equipped I/O than on the several times more expensive Dell XPS 17 9710. It comes with a total of three USB Type-As with one 2.0 port and two 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports. It also has one USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, an HDMI 1.4 connector, a MicroSD card reader, an Ethernet connector, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

1. Display quality
The display of choice here has s 15.6-inch diagonal, as well as a Full HD resolution. It comes with comfortable viewing angles, a maximum brightness of 348 nits in the middle of the screen, 321 nits average across the surface, and a maximum deviation of 11%, with a contrast ratio of 960:1. Sadly, it also uses PWM up to 89 nits of brightness, an issue, which our Health-Guard profile fixes completely. In terms of color coverage, the laptop covers only 53% of the sRGB color gamut.
The color accuracy also isn’t that great, with both with and without our Design and Gaming profile reaching an unsatisfactory dE value.

With budget laptops, the first thing to go is the aesthetic and the build quality. We, unfortunately, have to confirm that the same thing has happened with the Latitude 15 3520. The laptop is built entirely of plastic, with the lid, base, and bottom panels all having a matte textured surface, which offers decent grip, while the sides have a glossy finish. It flexes, both in its lid and base, with the lid being surprisingly stronger. What the device has going for it is its portability, weighing only 1.79 kg and having a profile of 18.06 mm.
