How to open Acer Aspire 3 (A315-59) – disassembly and upgrade options
It is quite surprising that the Aspire 3 has better upgrade options than the Aspire 7. However, facts are facts, and users can be pretty happy about this particular device. Well, at least from the context of upgradeability.

1. Remove the bottom plate
To open this device, you have to undo 10 Phillips-head screws. Then, pry the bottom panel with a plastic tool, and remove it from the chassis.
2. Remove the battery
Here, we find a 43Wh battery pack. To take it out, you need to unplug the battery connector and undo the two Phillips-head screws, securing the battery in place.
3. Upgrade memory and storage
As you can see, there are two SODIMM slots for memory expansion. They work with DDR4 and support dual-channel mode. Storage-wise, there are also two slots. One of the M.2 PCIe x4 slots supports Gen 3 SSDs, while the other can work with Gen 4 too.
4. Cooling system
The cooling comprises one heat pipe, a heat sink, and a fan of medium size.
