ASUS ZenBook UX430’s screen uses PWM under 30% brightness

The tests we conducted on the ASUS ZenBook UX430 show some good and some bad news. What you may find rather disturbing is that the panel uses PWM from 0 to 30% brightness, but here comes the good news – the display flickers at high frequencies (25 kHz) making it comfortable for continuous work as it wouldn’t have such a negative impact on most users.

In other words, the screen flickers only up to 100 nits of luminance and this will affect only buyers with extra sensitive eyes. However, if this is an issue for you, we recommend installing our Health-Guard profile, which eliminates PWM and also reduces the negative blue light emissions.
