Such is the case of the Dell Inspiron 13 5301, which has the newest tech from Intel, which is both powerful and quite power-efficient, as well as a Full HD screen and a plethora of features that can only help out.

Design

For the looks, we get a pretty standard design, with a metallic finish across the entire laptop. There is a debossed Dell logo on the center of the lid and the inner side of the lid, below the display. Build materials are specified to be aluminum for the lid and the palm rest area and while we suppose that the rest of the body is made out of plastic. In terms of rigidity, the laptop should be fine, due to its small size and the more tightly fit components. Portability isn’t an issue whatsoever, due to the laptop only weighing 1.23 kg and being just 15.8 mm at its thickest point.

Dell has done the smart thing and made it so that when you open up the lid, the base also lifts up, giving the fans more room to breathe. For the cooling, Dell has also introduced its Adaptive Thermals technology, which can detect whether the laptop is on a table, in your hand, or in your lap and adequately adjust its cooling profiles, so that in-hand discomfort is eliminated, while the maximum power is unleashed when sitting on a desk.

Display

The laptop uses a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS screen. According to Dell, it has wide viewing angles and thin bezels, which can be seen from the images. Other specifics about the display haven’t been announced, such as brightness or anything else. As always, when we get our hands on the device, we would have a detailed review, which also includes in-depth display tests, which test the color coverage and color accuracy as well as the uniformity luminance and more.

Specifications and features

Lastly, we have to mention the specs. The laptop is equipped with the latest Tiger Lake processors from Intel, which are great and offer amazing performance while maintaining great power-efficiency. The base model gets the Core i3-1115G4, while for the more needy consumers, there is the Core i5-1135G7 and the Core i7-1165G7. To handle graphically intensive tasks, you get the Iris Xe Graphics from Intel and if that is not enough for you, you can get a discrete MX350 from NVIDIA.

The battery unit has a size of 53Wh and comes with Dell’s ExpressCharge, which can fill up your battery up to 80% in just under an hour. Furthermore, turning it on and unlocking it has never been easier, due to the fingerprint reader.
