[Comparison] Intel Core i7-1250U vs AMD Ryzen 7 6800U – Choosing between more performane or more efficiency
The Ryzen 6000U-series is an underrated bunch of chips, with good efficiency and performance, considering the laptops that use them are some of the smallest. When compared to most Alder Lake CPUs, there is a disadvantage in the core count, but AMD CPUs always use hyperthreading, so it kind of evens out.
This is why for today we have the Core i7-1250U, with a TDP of only 9W and we’re placing it against the Ryzen 7 6800U, which has a base TDP between 15W and 28W. Can the Ryzen 7 be more efficient and bring more power? Stick with us to find out.

Efficiency
We’re doing something a bit different today, as we wanted to see how efficient both chips are. The two laptops that we used for testing both come with similar battery capacities, while the AMD-powered laptop has an OLED display with a much higher resolution.
With that said, the Intel-powered device lasts for an extra 5 hours and 41 minutes of web browsing and 4 hours and 30 minutes of video playback.
Brightness: 180 nits; Display Mode: SDR
Time to Full Discharge: Higher is Better
