How to open Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP216-51-G2) – disassembly and upgrade options


    Opening the Acer TravelMate P2

    Hint: Power off the device and unplug all cables before starting disassembly.

    1. Undo the 13 Phillips-head screws securing the bottom panel to the chassis.
    2. Use a thin plastic tool to pop the top two edges of the panel.
    3. Continue prying along the sides and the back, then finish with the front to fully release the clips.

    Battery Removal

    Caution: Handle the battery and connectors with care to avoid damage or short circuits.

    2. Install up to 64GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM in dual-channel mode (official spec).
    3. Given the CPU supports up to 96GB, higher-capacity modules may be compatible.

    We were pretty pleased with the performance of the Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP216-51) and now it's time to test its G2 version which isn't that different.
