Dell Latitude 13 7340 Review – Great Performance, Average Display – Perfect for Work, Not Play

Verdict

If you are looking for a small device that is snappy and comfortable for work, the Dell Latitude 13 7340 should be on your shortlist. The laptop offers great build quality alongside comfortable input devices. The performance is good for the class. The optional Core i5-1345U can maintain high clocks in short loads and the clocks in medium and long loads are still good which is a true achievement for this kind of laptop. In addition to that, the comfort under load is surprisingly good. The fan remains quiet even when the CPU is doing the heavy lifting for a long time and in this case, the keyboard doesn’t feel hot to the touch.

The display 1200p IPS display (Chimei–Innolux 9YPWH-133JCA (CMN13C8; N133JCA-EEK)) is PWM-free and has wide viewing angles. These are the two most important things for regular daily or office usage. On the other hand, the color coverage and the maximum brightness are nothing to write home about.

The upgradability is almost non-existent. There is one slot for 2230 Gen 4 NVMes and the RAM is soldered. So, the only thing you can do is to change the SSD when you need more space for storage. However, the max amount of memory is 32GB LPDDR5-4800MHz which seems future-proof for normal home or office usage.

You can turn this laptop into a small beast for business work if you tick all the optional features before buying. If your wallet is big enough, you can get goodies such as a fingerprint reader, a 5MP IR Web camera, or 4G / 5G connectivity. The battery life with the optional 57Wh unit is long enough for a whole working day – 10 hours of Web browsing on a single charge.

The Dell Latitude 13 7340 is a snappy business machine with a solid chassis. PWM-free IPS display, comfortable input devices, and long battery life.

You trust GPUz to inform the version of the Iris Xe (for example 80EUs or 96EUs) and this is bugged!
Since Tiger Lake the only i5 that has Iris Xe with 96EUs is the i5-11320H.
All other i5 mobiles have the 80EUs version. The graphics score in Time Spy confirms this.
I had already noticed this in other analyses…

Correction: ALMOST all i5 mobiles from the 11th generation onwards have Iris Xe 80EUs because, for example, the i5-12450H has only 48EUs.
