1. Remove the bottom plate

If you want to tinker with the insides of this machine, you have to unscrew a total of 8 Phillips-head screws. Thankfully, like the rest of the Latitude machines, they stay attached to the panel.

2. Battery

We were fortunate enough to get the laptop with the 68Wh battery unit. This model also comes with a smaller 51Wh package. Before you proceed, make sure you remove the battery connector from the motherboard.

3. Memory and storage

Memory-wise there are two RAM SODIMM slots that support up to 32GB of DDR4 memory in total. In terms of storage, depending on the battery size, you either get only an M.2 slot with PCIe x4 support or you also get the 2.5″ SATA drive slot, if you happen to get the smaller battery pack.

4. Cooling system

Now let’s take a look at the cooling solution – the star of this laptop’s internals. It features a single fan – something unnatural for a six-core configuration. However, the heat pipe on this thing is humongous. Seriously, it’s bulkier than those on some gaming laptops.
