Design

The laptop utilized interesting materials for its build, with there being two options for the lid and one option for the base. The first iteration of the laptop uses a carbon fiber plate, which is engulfed in glass fiber reinforced plastic. The second iteration has a carbon fiber weave, which covers the entire lid. Regardless of what you pick, you’ll still be getting an aluminum base, giving you a sturdy and rigid device, which is typical of ThinkPads. Weight-wise, the laptop weighs only 1.81 kg, which you can thank the carbon fiber for. It is one of the best materials when it comes to weight:strength ratio. The laptop also has a profile of 18.2 mm.

Display

The laptop offers two display options, both of which have a 16-inch diagonal and a 16:10 aspect ratio. This aspect ratio gives you more room on the vertical axis, allowing you to fit more apps and menus all at once, improving your multitasking and workflow. The first display has a QHD+ resolution, 400 nits of brightness, and a 1200:1 contrast ratio. It also covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. The other display option dials everything up to eleven, with a UHD+ resolution, a 600 nit max brightness, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, and 100% AdobeRGB coverage. This makes the laptop perfect for designers and content creators.

Specifications and features

Lenovo gives you a total of four CPUs to choose from, with three Tiger Lake processors and one Xeon chip, which brings ECC memory support. The entry configuration starts with the Core i7-11800H, with the i7-11850H and the i9-11950H also being available. All Tiger Lake chips use an 8/16 layout and have boost speeds well above 4.50 GHz. GPU-wise, there are tons of options, starting with the integrated UHD Graphics Xe 750, after which we have the RTX 3070 and 3080, all laptop versions. There are also several professional-grade offerings from the RTX A-series, as well as the Quadro T1200.

As this is a ThinkPad device, it comes with an arsenal of features, such as a fingerprint reader, a backlit spill-resistant keyboard, a Full HD webcam, a Dual Array Far-field Microphone, and a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Audio support.

The I/O is also stacked, consisting of two USB 3.2 (Gen. 1), two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, an audio jack, an SD card reader, and a security slot.
