[Comparison] Intel Core i7-11370H vs AMD Ryzen 7 4700U – The Intel CPU lost in 3D, but won in 2D Rendering
With the beginning of 2021, both NVIDIA and Intel are releasing new CPUs that promise new improvements, better performance, and lower power consumption. Intel released several new SKUs of their Tiger Lake family.
Today we’re here to talk about one of them, the Intel Core i7-11370H, which has a 4-core, 8-thread design and a boost clock of 4.80GHz.
To measure its performance against other high-performing processors, we do detailed comparisons, in which we test the chips in a variety of benchmarks, which test their ability to handle different tasks.
Here is our Top Laptop CPU Ranking, where you can check out the best performing processors.
Today we are comparing the Intel Core i7-11370H against the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U.

Specs table
| Intel Core i7-11370H | AMD Ryzen 7 4700U | |
|---|---|---|
| Architecture | Tiger Lake H35 | Zen 2 |
| Lithography | 10 nm | 7 nm |
| Base / Max frequency | 3.30-4.80GHz | 2.00-4.10GHz |
| Cores / Threads | 4/8 | 8/16 |
| Memory Type | DDR4-3200MHz, LPDDR4x-4266MHz | DDR4-3200MHz, LPDDR4x-4266MHz |
| Power Consumption | 35W | 15W |
| Cache | 12MB | 8MB |
| Integrated GPU | Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 (96EU) | AMD Radeon RX Vega 7 (Ryzen 4000, 15W) |
CPU benchmarks
Starting off with the 3D Rendering test, the Ryzen 7 4700U scored 7% higher, which is less than we would have imagined, considering the extra number of cores and threads. In Photoshop the results were the other way around. The Intel Core i7-11370H managed to finish the task faster and had a lead of 0.8 seconds, which only bodes well for the Intel chip.
Los resultados son de la prueba de CPU Cinebench 20 (cuanto más alta sea la puntuación, mejor)
Conclusion
In the Cinebench 15 3D Rendering benchmark, the Ryzen 7 4700U performed better, scoring 7% higher, which was a shame really, considering that it has double the cores and threads of the Intel CPU. Where things took a turn though was in the Photoshop benchmark. There the Intel Core i7-11370H was the better processor, as it was able to finish the test 0.8 seconds faster, thus ending this comparison in a draw. Of course, you have to take into consideration the power consumption of both chips, and when you do that you can see clearly that the AMD performs better at a way lower TDP of 15W.
