Gears 5 storyline is showing the events after the end of Gears Of War 4. The gameplay isn’t too different compared to the previous game while the picture quality has been updated and Gears 5 definitely looks better than its predecessor.

The title is based on Unreal Engine 4 and it’s optimized well even for low-end hardware. Even a GPU like the NVIDIA GeForce MX450 (GDDR6 / 25W) can achieve 43 FPS on High settings. On the other hand, if you want to see a lot of FPS on Ultra quality, you’re going to need powerful hardware.

For this comparison, we picked two mid-rangers – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (95W) and RTX 3060 (65W). Let’s see how fast these two are when it comes to Gears 5.

Verdict

The difference between the two GPUs isn’t mind-blowing – the 95W video card is 10% faster on average. On Ultra settings, the bigger GPU is even 14% faster which is a decent lead. However, the 65W sibling is fast enough to show 74FPS on Ultra and 94 FPS on High and that’s good performance for such a GPU (with 65W TGP).
