Dynabook Portege X30L-K review – this is an exquisite business notebook
Temperatures and comfort, Battery Life
Max CPU load
In this test we use 100% on the CPU cores, monitoring their frequencies and chip temperature. The first column shows a computer’s reaction to a short load (2-10 seconds), the second column simulates a serious task (between 15 and 30 seconds), and the third column is a good indicator of how good the laptop is for long loads such as video rendering.

This test practically confirmed our concerns about the performance of the P-series CPUs. It runs exceptionally in the first portion of the test but quickly throttles down to only 17W of TDP. Keep in mind that more than 90% of the use case of this device will live with loads no longer than 10 seconds. So in this perspective, the Portege X30L-K is great.
Comfort during full load
Dynabook prefers to run the laptop at a lower fan speed, which is another reason for the poor long-term performance of the product. On the bright side, the comfort during extreme workloads is great, and the maximum temperature over the keyboard is lower than 40°C.
Battery
Now, we conduct the battery tests with the Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with. This machine is equipped with a 53Wh battery pack. It lasts for 16 hours and 23 minutes of Web browsing, or 12 hours and 11 minutes of video playback.
