ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED (UX9702) review – is there a future for foldables?
In the past couple of years, a third form of laptops emerged. In addition to the traditional clamshell and 360° convertibles, we now have foldable notebooks. First, it was the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold, but now ASUS has its own take on this.
This would not have been possible without the OLED technology. It allows for extremely thin flexible displays. Of course, there are many issues that have to be overcome, the main one of which is reliability.
In contrast to ThinkPad X1 Fold, however, the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED (UX9702) has a diagonal of 17.3 inches. We’ll talk more about the hinge later on, but as first thoughts, you should know that the device is really solid.
Well, there are some constraints to the build of this machine. One of them is them is cooling and space in general. This is why ASUS has gone for the 9W Intel Core i7-1250U. Furthermore, you still get dedicated cooling, which is pretty nice.

What’s in the box?
This device comes in pretty interesting packaging. It contains the foldable notebook, its 65W USB Type-C charger, and instructions on how to use the laptop. Furthermore, you get an ASUS ErgoSense detachable Bluetooth keyboard and a USB Type-C to Type-A dongle cable.
