Dell Latitude 13 7340 Review – Great Performance, Average Display – Perfect for Work, Not Play

In the last few years, small laptops can be found with snappy CPUs that aren’t too thirsty at the same time. This is great news for users who don’t want to sacrifice performance or battery life over portability. The Dell Latitude 13 7340 is a compact 13.3-inch machine that is offered with 10-core Intel Raptor Lake U-series CPUs and the top processor option is the Core i7-1365U. Given the form factor, expectedly, there are no dGPU variants here. The upgradability isn’t spectacular which is okay given the dimensions. On the other hand, the I/O looks great with its two Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Dell describes their gadget as “ideal for busy professionals on the move”. At first sight, that seems true. The machine is light, can be ordered with a decently big battery, and brings to the table some useful (optional) features such as an IR Web camera, fingerprint reader, NFC support, Smart Card reader, and a NanoSIM slot. You have to pay an extra amount of money if you want your device to have all these goodies. You can choose among three 1200p IPS displays with a 60Hz refresh rate.

There is an optional Mini LED backlit keyboard that consumes less power compared to the normal units (or at least on paper). This should be important for business users who are constantly on the go. In terms of security, you get a dTPM 2.0 module and vPro CPU models (option).

You trust GPUz to inform the version of the Iris Xe (for example 80EUs or 96EUs) and this is bugged!
Since Tiger Lake the only i5 that has Iris Xe with 96EUs is the i5-11320H.
All other i5 mobiles have the 80EUs version. The graphics score in Time Spy confirms this.
I had already noticed this in other analyses…

Correction: ALMOST all i5 mobiles from the 11th generation onwards have Iris Xe 80EUs because, for example, the i5-12450H has only 48EUs.
