Acer Swift Edge (SFE16-43) review – has a lot of potential but the cooling solution needs a revamp

Nowadays, there are a lot of big and heavy laptops on the market in almost any price category. The modern CPUs and the GPUs are getting more powerful so a decent cooling solution is a must but that adds more weight. What if you need a super slim and light device with a big screen?

Your options are definitely limited and the Acer Swift Edge (SFE16-43) is one of few devices that has a 16″ screen, a fast AMD CPU under the bonnet, and a very thin profile. The panel isn’t a regular one, that’s a 3.2K 16:10 OLED display with an infinite contrast ratio. That’s a good start. The hardware is also no joke for such a thin machine – powerful 28W Team Red Zen 4 processors paired with the latest iGPU models. In some regions, this device can be found with Wi-Fi 7 connectivity which probably sounds mouth-watering to some people.

The device is also full of extras such as AMD Ryzen AI, Bluetooth 5.1, a good Web camera, and modern I/O. At first sight, this laptop seems like a wet dream for users who need a fast and thin laptop with a great display.
