Lenovo LOQ (15″ Intel, 2023) review – low price, high performance

Today, we are going to review the second iteration of the Lenovo LOQ laptop. This time, it is a 15-inch model, which aims to battle with the likes of Acer’s Nitro, HP’s Vostro, and ASUS’ TUF Gaming series of notebooks.

Immediately, there is one question that arises – what is the difference between the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3, and the LOQ machine? Well, we are not entirely sure, so we are going to treat the latter as a standalone product, rather than a rebranded machine.

To be fair, its processor and GPU combo are pretty capable. We are talking about Intel’s 13th Gen 45W CPUs, maxing out with the Core i7-13700H. As for graphics, you can go up to the RTX 4060 with 115W of TGP. In addition, you can settle for the RTX 2050, RTX 3050, and RTX 4050, with the last two options sharing the same amount of memory.

Moreover, there are plenty of options when it comes to the display. Thankfully, all of them include IPS units. The base model features a 60Hz refresh rate, while the next has a 144Hz one with G-Sync support. Both of them have a 1080p resolution – something that has been the golden standard for years, and only recently started to fall behind the 1440p displays in popularity in portable gaming devices. That leads us to the top-of-the-line panel, which is a 1440p unit with an alleged full sRGB coverage, 165Hz refresh rate, and G-Sync support.

What’s in the box?

Inside the package, we find a lot of protective foam, which is great. In addition, you get some paperwork, and one of three charger options – 135W, 170W, or 230W. Since our configuration is equipped with the RTX 4050, it sports the 170W unit.
