[Specs and Info] Sleekness and style are core components of the new MSI GS66 and GS76 Stealth

The MSI GS Stealth series has been very well received, especially the latest release, which overhauled the design drastically. Now, as Intel released their new Tiger Lake H series processors, every manufacturer is suddenly dumping a load of upgraded devices all at once.

MSI isn’t any different, as today we will talk about the updated GS66 and GS76 Stealth, which retain the same design, with the only change being the internals.

Design

The design is one of the laptops’ strong suits. It comes with a fully aluminum unibody, which is both sturdy and very good-looking. The notebook is really stealthy hence the name, with even the MSI crest being barely visible because, with all-new MSI devices, the logo is debossed onto the lid. The design of the notebook utilizes sharp edges and rounded corners. Furthermore, the weight on the GS66 stealth comes in at 2.10 kg, which is 350 grams heavier than the GS76 Stealth. The height difference between the two laptops is negligible, at around 0.4 mm.

Display

The display situation is fairly similar between the two devices. The GS66 Stealth offers five different display choices, while the GS76 has only four (what a bummer). Some of the panels between the two laptops look identical on paper, with the only difference being the size. For the GS66 Stealth, there are two QHD IPS panels, with either 165Hz or 240Hz refresh rate. There are two Full HD IPS panels as well, with either a 300Hz or 360Hz refresh rate. Finally, the last display has a 4K resolution, and still uses an IPS panel. The GS76 Stealth offers the two aforementioned QHD displays, the Full HD 360Hz panel, as well as the 4K panel, which on this device has a 120Hz refresh rate.

Specifications and features

When it comes to CPU performance, you are pretty secured as the laptops come with either the Core i7-11800H or the Core i9-11900H. Both of these CPUs have an 8/16 configuration and a boost clock speed of above 4.50 GHz. This will ensure supreme performance, during a high load. The GPU side also has a lot of options. You get to choose between the RTX 3060, RTX 3070, and the RTX 3080. All of these GPUs are Laptop variants and share the same TDP of 95W.

The laptop comes with a per-key RGB backlit keyboard. It supports Killer Gb LAN, with speeds up to 2.5G, Killer Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth v5.2. There is a front-firing stereo speaker setup, which is provided by Dynaudio.
