[Comparison] AMD Ryzen 5 6600H vs Intel Core i5-1240P – 2022 is painted Blue
The CPU market is in a crazy place right now. While both Intel and AMD have their newest 12th Gen and Ryzen 6000, they also have their 2021 processors, which are quite good as well, especially for gamers.
However, AMD has still stumbled a bit, not delivering as much performance as Intel, with some P-series Alder Lake processors outperforming the Ryzen 6000H-series in whatever benchmark you choose. Today we have two mid-range CPUs one of which has significantly lower base TDP, but it can boost up quite heavily, depending on the cooling.
Here is our Top Laptop CPU Ranking, which has the best laptop CPUs in a list, based on performance.
Today we are comparing the AMD Ryzen 5 6600H against the Intel Core i5-1240P.

CPU benchmarks
The Intel Core i5-1240P delivers a 7% higher score in 3D Rendering, while also being quicker in Adobe Photoshop, finishing the benchmark 1.4 seconds quicker.
De resultaten zijn afkomstig van de Cinebench R23 CPU-test (hoe hoger de score, hoe beter)
Resultaten zijn van onze Photoshop benchmark test (hoe lager de score, hoe beter)
Conclusion
These new CPUs are very cooling-dependent, and the lower base TDP allows the Core i5-1240P to spike up wattage and clock speeds on its own terms, which will lead to better stability and performance in the long run. We also have to mention the core count increase, as the Core i5 has double the cores of the Ryzen 5, which contributes a lot to the performance increase.
