[Comparison] Intel Core i7-1250U vs Intel Core i7-1260P – Fast work for the Core i7-1260P
How does the Core i7-1250U compare to the bigger and more powerful Core i7-1260P? The former is all about being stable under all loads, with a more modest 9W TDP. However, we’ve seen it spike up well above that, so it will be an interesting comparison.
The P-series chip has a pure hardware advantage with two extra performance cores and higher clock speeds, however, it doesn’t have the flexibility of the U-series CPU.

GPU benchmarks
Moving over to the GPU tests, while carrying the same iGPU, the one inside the Core i7-1260P scores a lot higher, mainly because Intel iGPU drivers delegate as much work to the CPU as possible, with the GPU acting as a sort of a middle man, translating work to the CPU rather than doing it itself. The P-series processor’s iGPU scores 36% and 37% higher in 3DMark Fire Strike and Unigine Superposition.

Conclusion
The Core i5-1260P is a great middle ground between the less-performing U-series and the Alder Lake H-series which maximizes performance over temperatures and cooling. As you can see, the P-series processor still offers a lot of power, while being housed in a portable chassis, since it doesn’t need that much cooling to function properly.
